Sean serves as the Military Hiring Advisor for USAA leading the corporate effort in recruiting and hiring veterans and military spouses. He works strategically with internal and external partners to develop and deploy military hiring efforts and represents USAA nationwide at military-focused events. Prior to this, Sean was a Director of Enterprise Events & Protocol responsible for promoting USAA’s brand and protecting the company’s reputation by governing, planning, and executing various internal and external events throughout the company.
A prior enlisted soldier, Non-Commissioned Officer, and graduate of Officer Candidate School (OCS), Sean served 22 ½ years in the Army before retiring in June 2014 as a senior Presidential Communications Officer in the White House Communications Agency where he provided direct and personal support to the President of the United States and led teams supporting Presidential events around the world. Earlier assignments included: Commander, 1st Presidential Communications Command, White House Communications Agency; Brigade Signal Officer (S6), 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade; and Commander, 286th Signal Company.
Sean earned his Master of Science degree in Project Management from The George Washington University and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He married his high school sweetheart, Mary, in 1991. Mary is a steadfast advocate for service members and their families, coaching military men and women to attain their higher education goals and serving as a mentor to young military spouses.
